Our Featured Athlete of the Month April 2019 is Daniela Botrugo!

Every month we select an athlete that demonstrates exceptional dedication, positivity, and support toward their fellow athletes and community. Our featured “Athlete of the Month” for April 2019 is not one but two amazing athletes in our community……Daniela Botrugno & Patrice Delcroix! They won as a team our Winter Melt Challenge – Congratulations!

This is Daniela…

What’s your athletic background?
Started with Gymnastics and Ballet when I was 7 and later Jazz Dance. I did a few other sports like Tennis, Badminton, Krav Maga, Swimming and also Yoga, Pilatus and Tai-Chi. After a Car Accident when regular therapies didn’t help I started with Personal Training and Bootcamp Training.

What was your first experience with CrossFit?
Bootcamp was already challenging but I wanted to take it to the next level. I trained with a very experienced trainer and a great group of athletes among them also firefighters, cops and army people; that was tough but very helpful also in terms of mindset and determination.

When did you start CrossFit?
In 2015 in at Crossfit Zwijndrecht in the Netherlands where I lived at that moment.

Why did you choose CrossFit Schaffhausen?
After moving back to Switzerland I visited a few Classes of Crossfit Yoga at Crossfit Triplex in Thun it was a good way to meet new people. In July 2018 Patrice and I moved together and he already trained a year at CF Schaffhausen where I joined him in November 2018.

What keeps you coming back?
Challenging yourself and of course the motivating community.

How do you like to spend your free time?
I love all different kinds of Music from Classic to Hip-hop and I am a big Movie fan.

What are one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit?
Walking up the stairs and lifting heavy things is easier now.

What are your goals for 2019?
Get more structure and balans in my Personal and Working life and therefore get more focus on my lifestyle.

What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
Either you love it or you hate it.

What’s your favorite & least favorite CrossFit movement?
Favourite movement probably the Deadlift and sorry…Burpees 😊 least favourite, Rings.

What’s your favorite cheat meal?
