What’s your athletic background?
I used to do some “poor” cardio at the gym 3 times a week with absolutely no effect on my body, but mainly what I was doing and still do is Yoga. It makes me feel relax, help with the stiffness and the flexibility.
What was your first experience with CrossFit?
One of my colleague was a CrossFit addict. Seeing him I was under the impression I would never be able to do such a thing, and this summer, I received a pop-up on facebook, I was bored, and I thought, why not give it a try!
When did you start CrossFit?
So it was in August 2018, the initial objective was just to survive 3 months.
Why did you choose CrossFit Schaffhausen?
The location is quite convenient, I can go by foot directly from work, and I heard some good feedback from colleagues.
What keeps you coming back?
The pain I guess?! No more seriously I like the fact that it’s a lean sport, it’s not time consuming, you come, you unplugged your brain, you do what is asked, and you are done.
Also, people are super supportive and inspiring, definitively a plus! You see them do some crazy stuffs with their bodies and it keeps you motivated to improve as well.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Netflix, movies, yoga, travelling, friends and family, not specifically in this order.
What are one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit?
I see muscles, which means I built muscles and lose fat which I pretty much had give up on. My upper body starts looking tonic, my energy level is high, honestly I could go on with the positives for a while.
What are your goals for 2019?
Keep the good work, less fat, more muscle.
What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
You are going to be just fine! It is really accessible at every level, the results are there, you just have to push the mental and let time do its job, eventually one morning you would just realized you are not the same anymore.
What’s your favorite & least favorite CrossFit movement?
My favorite movement is back squat. Just like it! And regarding my least favorite, what I did not knew existed about before starting crossfit and wish it does not exist is Burpees. It just feels bad and looks bad.
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
Alcohol? Not really a meal but if I indulge myself usually it’s for wine and whisky.
Anything else you would like to share with your CrossFit Schaffhausen family?
