What’s your athletic background?
As a kid I was in swim competition for 10 years. After that I did synchronized swimming and jazz dance. At 40, I started horse riding because my daughter wanted her own horse.
What was your first experience with CrossFit?
I accompanied my daughter to the trial lesson and was so excited that I did the introductory course with her.
When did you start CrossFit?
Why did you choose CrossFit Schaffhausen?
My working colleague recommended Crossfit Schaffhausen to me. Class schedule and location are perfect for me.
What keeps you coming back?
It’s like a drug. Once you start, you can not stop. During the workout you are dying but still come back the next day. You make progress and find great new friends.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I like being in Spain on the beach – for hours! Otherwise, I like to read and spend a lot of time with my dog or visit my horse.
What are one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit?
I have never felt so fit and can often keep up with the young guys, if my knee let me.
What are your goals for 2018?
My first strict handstand pushup and a lot of unbroken double unders.
What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
That reminds me of what I asked James first: Can I (at least 48 years old) do Crossfit at all?
Yes, I can! Everyone can do Crossfit because all exercises can be adapted to your fitness level. However, the motivation of the Crossfit family and the coach is the most helpful.
What’s your favorite & least favorite CrossFit movement?
Favorite: pullups and burpees
Least: wallballs and double unders
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
Anything else you would like to share with your CrossFit Schaffhausen family?
See you soon in the box, I’m glad to see you in the next training.
